Erie Molded Plastics, INC.

History

Phil Tredway, a Lehigh University MBA graduate with a background in international banking, had a vision of starting a custom injection molding facility in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Laurie, decided to move back to Erie in the early 1980s with their young family in order to make that dream a reality.

Erie Molded Plastics, Inc. began in a 10,000 square foot rented warehouse space with two presses running around the clock. The key to the company’s growth and reputation?

“Produce. Produce well. Produce often.” - Business Magazine, October 2000

In 2006 Erie Molded Plastics leveraged its experience in closures and high volume production to enter the stock packaging market.  We began with a 110-400 continuous thread closure, and since added several other stock closures and lids as well as lining capabilities.

Today, we have 21 presses, over 50 employees, and proudly supply high quality, on-time, competitively priced parts to a variety of industries, including: packaging, housewares, electronics, pharmaceuticals and more.
